Workstations – Case Study 1 – Motor Vehicle Manufacturer

With a staff of several 000's in the PRC, this manufacturer was looking to expand its Beijing office.

They were in need of space nearby their present location and finally leased an old warehouse for full renovation.

Due to the European aspect of this company, the client wished to use 120 degree workstations with low dividers for ease of communication and to create an open environment with plenty of light for the employees.

Due to the high ceiling in this warehouse it was necessary to introduce custom lighting features for each workstation so that plenty of desk lighting was available.

Collodi was able to take it's semi-standard workstation and create 2 options for lighting:

  • Bridge Style
  • Helicopter Style

The client eventually chose the helicopter style lighting due to its aesthetics.

In addition custom filing and cable and wire management was provided to best solve the problems created by moving into an earlier style building.

Workstations – Case Study 2 – Investment & Asset Management Firm

This investment and asset management group had some very interesting ideas concerning their bench workstations.

They wished to combine a standard bench workstation with massive cable trunking hidden in the central area, but they did not wish to use panels or a raised floor. To make maters more interesting they were looking for a near seamless baked white paint finish, and lastly incorporate their filing part and parcel with the bench workstation.

Collodi's in house engineering department was able to produce the a bench workstation where the central supporting beam was also a massive trunking distribution system, and acted as a support for the low privacy panels. This beam construction means that when/if the client relocates that the system in question can be easily dis-assembled and re-assembled.

Matching managerial, conference, meeting and hot desking areas were also provided so that the whole office environment was contiguous.

In addition there need to be power and data distribution un-seen through the panel system and access to power and data at desk top.
